The dried Bird’s Eye chili, also known as African Bird’s Eye, is found all over Africa. It’s also known as the African Devil, Kongo, Mombasi, Pequin, Ugana, and the Zanzibar chili. The shape is very small and conical, about 1-2cm long. It is used abundantly in Thai and Asian cooking. They are ideal for conserving in oil, which can then be used as a salad dressing.
